Default Creating cluster and storage problem - 11-10-2008 , 12:56 AM

Hi all,

I need to install 2 noe failover cluster with server 2008 and sql 2005
servers. I have already finished the following hardware and software
installations ;

- 1 server for DC ruuning windows server 2008 standart
- 2 servers for SQL running sql 2005 standart on windows server 2008 ent.
- 1 storage server sharing disks over iscsi
- 2 different shared disks already connected that sql servers over iscsi
protocol.
- 1 cluster created named SQLTEST.testdomain.local and both of the nodes
are already member of it.

With this implemention i have some problems. When I click add storage
from the failover cluster console, it says it did not be online. I do
not understand what happens ? Also I do not know how can i specify the
Quorum disk. Could you help me please ?

Regards,

Ismail OZATAY

When you set up the Windows Cluster you have to specifiy a Quorum disk. This
has to be another shared disk between the two nodes; on my clusters it is
2.0gb. That holds the Quorum information for the cluster.

As for your other issue make sure that both nodes are properly added into
the cluster; it sounds like it thinks cluster is not active. I had that
issue when we took 2 of the 3 nodes down in our cluster.

Also check Clustering Services make sure they are running .

Thanks.
