Default Clustering and SQL 2000 - 03-04-2009 , 03:45 PM

Does anyone have a recommendation (from personal experience) with clustering
on SQL 2000? A customer is must stay on SQL 2000 for reasons beyond their
control, so I don't believe they can use MSCS. Thanks for any
recommendations.

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition supports failover clustering
simultaneous support of up to 16 instances of SQL Server also SQL Server 2000
has extensive support for recovering from a failure of a server node in the
cluster, including a one-node cluster. If a node fails it can be removed,
reinstalled, and rejoined to the cluster while all other nodes continue to
function properly. It is then a simple operation with SQL Server 2000 Setup
to add the new server back into the virtual server definition

Yes. I have done SQL 2000 clustering. I currently have clients still on
that platform, despite my urging them to upgrade.

SQL 2000 EE is not supported on anything. It is beyond end of life.
