Default clustering mirror server - 04-30-2010 , 07:40 PM

Please let me know if the following scenerio is technically feasible.

There is an active/passive cluster, users databases are mirrored.
Mirror server has its own active/passive cluster.

Thank you.

Hi,

Just curious, but are you essentially trying to cluster a warm DR
site? In the past we've used disk replication to mirror to our DR
site and clustered each of the home office and DR instances separately
(similar to how you are wanting to setup minus the mirroring). You
should be able to do what you're proposing, you'll just need to make
sure that all of the objects in master and msdb (logins, agent jobs,
etc) get copied out to your second cluster on a regular basis. I hope
it goes well for you!

Andrew

These are two different technologies and are basically unaware of each other
so i dont see any reason this cant be done. I personally havent tried it but
i have looked in to its feasibility and it looks to be possible. probably
something that should be tested first but i wasnt able to find any reason it
wouldnt work.
