Default Cluster nodes with different hardware spec - 02-05-2004 , 05:57 PM






Is there any issue with building a cluster with 2 nodes
(Active-passive)and with different hardware spec (but
same mem size, different number of processors and speed)?
It is temp situation until we found another hardware with
same spec as the first one. Thanks in advance

Keep in mind that MS only supports cluster hardware on an approved cluster hardware list. Although what you wish is technically feasible you may get no support if things go wrong.

Your config will likely "work" but it might not be supported. Here's an
article which describes just how much memory and processor difference your
cluster nodes can have and still maintain support:
