Hi, We have sql server 2000 cluster, with 4 (active-passive) instances. Shared drives (all system and user databases) are EMC. Since databases are large (~1TB), we take only BCV backups of shared volumes. We are installing sql server 2005 cluster on the new set of servers. We plan to restore shared drives which means all databases (including system ones) from BCV, because there is no way to restore them per database. That means that all system databases will be overwritten (with sql server 2000 system databases) as well. We plan to rebuild system databases with setup.exe, and to attach database files afterwards. Does that sound OK? Thanks in advance, Pedja |
