Default Backup db in a cluster - 07-23-2008 , 06:28 AM

In order to backup the db in a clustered instance, is it possible to use a
device mapped locally for each node of the cluster?
Has this device to belong to a resource group?
Thanks

Yes you can backup to a local disk or resource which is bound to a
single node of the cluster. However if it is local disk do keep in
mind that if the node fails the backup won't be available.

And no the backup device does not have to be a cluster resource.
