Default adding raid array to existing cluster - 02-10-2004 , 07:51 AM






Hi Guys,
my sql server 2000 running in active/passive cluster mode.
right now i have ony one raid array on which i placed
datafile and logfile. now i am facing disk bottlenecks so
i want to add one more raid (raid1) for log files.
how ican do this .
any special procedure? there will be much down time?
pls advice me

YOu need to follow the normal procedures to add a disk to
the cluster, then make it a dependency of the SQL Server
resource. You will encounter downtime, but it will vary
depending on what you're doing (i.e. if low-level
formatting disks, reboots, etc.).
