Default 2 node cluster - Witch Instance name ? - 11-20-2007 , 02:33 PM

Hello

I will setup a 2 node sql 2005 std. ed cluster with multi instance.

How maney instance can i run (16 total in standard ed.) ?, there is a small
base with low traffic inside each instance.

Witch instance name & virtual name shoud i use SQLINST01\SQLINST01 or can i
use the Cluster VIP name someshow.

If someone report a error on a instance is will be nice that we quick know
on with cluster it is.

If my cluster name is SQLCLU01 can i use that in the instance names:
SQLCLU01INST01\SQLCLU01INST01 or

Eksamble:

SQLCLU01\INST01
SQLCLU01\INST02
SQLCLU01\INST03

SQLCLU01INST01\SQLCLU01INST01
SQLCLU01INST02\SQLCLU01INST02
SQLCLU01INST03\SQLCLU01INST03

They each need their own name, ip and disk although that is kind of
simplified. There is alot other factors to consider if you want to put that
many instances on two nodes.
