Wish to learn SQL..pls help

hi all

i am interested in learning SQL but i cant afford to buy any software since
i am broke is

there an easy way or free software that can allow me to achieve this goal? i
just want to

know the basics commands to phrase queries and extract data from a database
so nothing

advanced.

check out mysql or spend $50 for SQL 2005 Developer Edition

Or, as mentioned in other groups, use SQL Server 2008 Express, which is also
free.

the best way to learn sql server is to use reference metirial and database
server
you can find free edition for all the popular database product like
sql server 2005 express edition
sql server 2008 express edition
you can also download oracle express edition and if u dont want to download
anything then u can also use good old microsoft office access (i am sure u
have office suite on your pc dude !!)

Chris,

Here is something that might hold you over until you can afford one of the
SQL Server products is to download the 120 day trial version of SQL Server.
