Default Webservice in SQL Server 2005 - 04-08-2008 , 07:07 PM

Dear professional,

I am working with Flex development team, they are development a flex
interface and we are using this in the front end and in the back end we are
using SQL Server 2005 but the only problem is Flex can't call stored
procedure directly, they need web services and I have to pass one of my
stored procedure into that webservice and they can call that. Is there any
simplest and easy way in sql server 2005 to create web service so that they
can call that one in Flex?

Thanks in advance.

Not familiar with Flex, but you can set up a web service pretty easily using
IIS and .NET, and use it to connect to the database and execute the stored
procedure. You can also set up HTTP endpoints in SQL Server 2005 to expose
stored procs directly as web services, but that feature is deprecated in SQL
2008 and will be removed from a future version of SQL Server.
