Default Use SQL 2000 client to access SQL 7 database? - 07-10-2003 , 08:32 AM

We have some SQL 7 servers and some SQL 2000 servers. I
have loaded the client utility for SQL 7 and SQL 2000 on
my workstation. I have connected to one of the SQL 7
servers through Query Analyzer and was successful in doing
a query.
Are there any problems with only loading the SQL 2000
client on the Data Base Administrators computers for them
to access both versions? Are there any repercussions by
doing this?
Thanks!

You can't have both anyway. When you load the 2000 client tools it will
upgrade the 7.0 ones. There is no problem using 2000 tools to administer
7.0 servers but you can't go the other way around.
