Updating SQL-server

You can get the SQL service packs from the MS website. So for instance, if
you type "SQL Server 2005" and "Service Pack 2" in Google, it would take you
to the download site.

You update your SQL Server by applying service packs or hotfixes. On a
production box, I would not consider Windows updates. You really want to
test
a service pack/hotfix before you apply it to the prod. SQL service packs
and
hotfixes come with installation instructions.
