Regarding your question, I understand that you want to know how to have your SQL Server 2000 registered instances displayed in your Enterprise Manager which was newly installed on your
new laptop. You tried exporting the registry key and importing it to the new PC, however it did not work.
If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

Manually exporting registry key out and importing it to another machine is not a Microsoft support scenario. There are no documents saying that this method will work. I appreciate your
understanding on this and I recommend that you manually register your SQL Server instances from SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
