SQL Native Client Service Pack

I am just wanting to proactively have the SQL clients at the same version as
the database server. Is SQL 2005 SP2 (v9.00.3042.00) meant to be applied on
a workstation that has the SQL Native Client installed?

John,

You will find that not only Service packs but the hotfixes can update the
client software.
