I am trying to install SP3 on an XP client. Getting the error
A recently applied update, KB955706, failed to install. Summary log says

Any help would be appreciated.
Shouldn't be this difficult to install an SP.

I have come across this error before. Have you tried to uninstall the
recently applied update? If not, try to uninstall the update and then
restart the SP3 install. What are you SP are you on now? Are there any CUs
installed that are post SP2?
