Default Reporting Services print error - 06-29-2010 , 09:05 AM

I have 2 reporting services servers. 1 with SSRS 2005 SP3 and another with
SSRS 2008 SP1.
When I go to IE 7 or IE 8 and try to print a report from SSRS 2005 or 2008,
appears the error message: "Unable to load client print control". Navigating
for a few blogs and found he had to uninstall the ActiveX control
RSClientPrint.dll. I did the procedure and when I enter the SSRS 2005 report
asks to reinstall the component. So far so good, but the problem is that when
I install the ActiveX control of SSRS 2005, it is not compatible with SSRS
2008. Of course because it is a newer version. So when I go into some SSRS
2008 report, he asks to install the ActiveX control of SSRS 2008. When I
install the printing of SSRS reports in 2005 again show the error: "Unable to
load client print control".
How to solve the problem? Is there any way to print reports without the
installation of an ActiveX control? If help, I am a senior dotNET developer.

Data from the environment:
Servers: Reporting Services 2005 SP3 and Reporting Services 2008 SP1
Clients: Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7

Thanks!

This problem is a pain to fix, as you found it is an issue with
RSClientPrint.dll; with SQL 2005 and SQL 2008. Another I have found is if
you are running reporting services in 64-bit edition then it also gives many
errors.

Only work around I have found for it is export to PDF then print. However
if your report is using non-standard fonts then you run into font embedding
issues.

I have yet to find a answer for this problem that is simple or easy.
Another reference I read once recommended having a batch file that
unregistered the dll/copies the proper dll in and re-registered it every time.
