I install a client of sql server standard
edition in the windows XP computer, I tried to connect
with a SQL server located in A windws 2003,

I didn't see the sqlserver database listed in the active
server. So I manually type the name of the server
and it was trying to connect and gave error message:

unable to connect to server
ODBC; msg0, level16, state1
[microsoft][odbc drvier manager]data source name not
found and no default driver specified.
From which program did you try to connect? Since ODBC does not appear
to even know to what backend you want to talk to, this does not seem
like any of the SQL Server tools, but some other application.
