Wow, that's more than a little bit scary. If you are working on a stock
trading app and you don't know about locking I hope my stocks aren't
depending on that app

. In any case there is nothing special about a
stock app than any other really as the same principles apply. I would
recommend the Inside SQL Server 2005 series of books but this one in
particular has a section on locks and deadlocks.
