I don't understand myself what is this standard edition "single user" but if
you tell us its price, maybe we'll have a clearer picture.

As to your second question, you should explain what you mean exactly with
the verb "distributes" in the sentence "... and distributes data to users".

I need to buy a sql server standard edition for an intranet application.
From MS site I see that you can license sql standard edition "per server"
(=processor) at 6,000 USD or "per user" at 1,850 USD per 5 CALs.

Now I have received a quotation for a standard edition "single user".

(1) does this standard edition single user exist? I thought user=cal but
maybe I am wrong.

(2) my application is a data warehouse app (please note I not using AS)
which reads from SQL engine and distrubutes data to users. If I understand
well a single user license is fine for me.

Thank you for any comment. Licensing seems to be very hard to
understand...
at least to me.
