Default Licence question - 03-02-2007 , 08:13 AM

Not sure if this is the correct group - but couldn't find a specific SBS
managed group - and as this relates to the SQL component of SBS it seemed a
good place to start.

A client of mine is running SBS 2003 R2, with 15 CALS - they have 12 staff.

Their server has a public IP address, and they host some home written
asp.net 2.0 pages.

They have asked me write a new asp.net site that links into the SBS's SQL
server, providing potential customers with current prices etc, and also
provide a way of entering questions and data via the webpage. They have also
mentioned the possibility of having the IIS on that server running a couple
of web services that their customers could connect to to get the same
information from a thin client app that they want to give to their customers.

Where do they stand with regards licences? SBS doesn't support per
processor, and the max they can buy is 75 for SBS - do they need a licence
for each potential client, or, as they only have one app actually accessing
the SBS SQL database are they ok with the licences they have?

Many thanks.
