Default How to configure sql server 2008 client - 02-05-2010 , 09:36 AM






Hi,

I've this trouble ...

- I've got this server: Windows XP SP3 with SQL Server 2008 Express
installed.
I've just enabled the SQL Server Browser and TCP-IP (an even Named Pipes
protocol, they were all-disabled).

- I've got one client: Windows XP SP3 with SQL Server 2008 Native Client
installed.

Fron client I cannot connect to Server in any way !!!
what else can I configure ?

1) Did you restart SQL Server?
2) What you do you specify when you try to connect?
3) Any firewall?
4) Is the Browser service running?

What is the error? Can you see what is wrtitten in the ERROR.LOG?

ok. It was the windows firewall. I put exception for TCP 1433 and UDP 1434
and now I can easly connect to the server.
