Default clietns for SQL 2000 and 2008 - 08-25-2008 , 02:54 PM

Hi,

I am exploring sql server 2008 and installed it on my xp with
management studio. I have few applications wich use databases on sql
server 2000. SQL server 2000 is installed on network - not on my xp.
But I can access through enterprose manager. We are using some DTS
package also and we have to keep changing it depends on the
requirement. I used to have enterprose manager on m/c but when I
installed 2008, it removed the EM.

Can I keep EM and management studio side by side?

Thanks.

I reported an error about connecting to a SQL Server 2000 Instance using
SSMS 2008. If you are interested or verify it with the problem you
experience, see my report from this link:
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLSer...dbackID=363137

SQL Server 2008 Installation removed your SQL Server 2000' s Enterprise
Manager? That's strange. I have not observed such a reaction yet.
