Default Change Service Account SQL 2000 MSDE - 07-10-2008 , 10:07 AM

I am trying to change the SQL Service account from LocalSystem on my
Win XP machine to a local account that I created. I have followed the
MS articles to give permission to this account on the C: drive, in the
registry and in Local Sec Policy. The service still won't start. I
get an "Access Is Denied" error when I try to start the service. I
used this account for SQL Server 2005 express with no problem, but
MSSQL just won't start. If I put the account in the administrators
group then the service will start, but it shouldn't be in the Admin
group.
Please help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

Kalvin
