The PostgreSQL manpages currently do not quote the dash (they contain '-' instead of '\-', as mandated by manpages). Since this produces a different Unicode character than an quoted dash, these manpages look a bit weird on some locale/terminal combinations, and worse, you cannot search for options without actually figuring out how to enter the unicode narrow hyphen character on your keyboard. |
