Bug reference: 1812 Logged by: Donald Bahari Email address: baharid (AT) yahoo (DOT) com PostgreSQL version: 8.0.3 Operating system: Windows XP Home SP2 Description: installation Details:=20 =20 in the first screen of the installation the user was set to=20 postgres and asked for a password, which i gave. there was an=20 error message and i changed the user and password to=20 something i had set up in "user accounts" in "control panel".=20 in control panel i couldn't set up a user "postgres", but i=20 could set up a different user(e.g. donbah) with a password=20 and then change the name the name to "postgres", but the=20 installation gave an error message, so i had to change the=20 user to "donbah" and use the password i set in control panel.=20 then i could complete the installation. since i am a beginner=20 and trying to learn by following from a book, i don't know if=20 its ok to proceed. i also had difficulty with the=20 "createuser" command. |
