Default configure problems with Mac OS/X (10.4.6) - 06-25-2006 , 09:13 PM

I installed mysql from Fink and tried to install mysql++. Running
../configure with the --with-mysql=/sw option led to the following error:

checking for MySQL library directory... configure: error: Didn't find
mysqlclient library in '/sw/lib/mysql /sw/lib/mysql/lib
/sw/lib/mysql/lib/mysql'

Any help on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

1st: have you installed mysql?
2nd: the "/sw" prefix is just an example. You have to change with the
<correct_path_to_mysql>/lib/mysql in the parameter --with-mysql

If you only say "fink install mysql", that only installs the MySQL
database server. Say "fink list mysql" to see the many other pieces
available. You need mysql-dev at least, and one set of shared libs.
You probably want the client pieces, too.
