First of all, I am glad this list exists. Thanks in
advance for any help you can give me; I hope I can
contribute some useful things too.

Anyway, I'm sure you've heard about the error 1
problem when running make for the DBD-mysql module,
and how the INSTALL.html file recommends installing
some libraries. Well, I am trying to compile the
module using a MIPS-based Cobalt Qube2 microserver,
which runs a version of Linux which is basically
RedHat 5.2, I believe. I compiled MySQL from source,
and it works just fine. I also have the DBI module
installed. After I got the error initially, I
installed the following:

zlib-devel-1.1.2-2C1
libstdc++-devel-2.8.0-9
libgr-devel-2.0.13-13
libgd-devel-1.3-2
glibc-devel-2.0.7-29

I installed all of these from RPMs compiled for the
MIPS platform, and they installed just fine, though
the problem persisted. Any advice? Do I need later
versions?

One other thing you might do to verify that those libraries are in fact
properly installed:

ldconfig -p |grep -i libz

Sometimes, RPM doesn't seem to run ldconfig after it installs a new package.

What version of DBD::mysql are you trying to install? Src or RPM?
