Default Please help on Replacing IBM DB2 connect with a 3rd party thindriver - 08-23-2009 , 01:42 PM

Right now our system is using DB2 connect professional to connect to DB2 on Mainframes Z/OS through CLI. For this sake we need to install DB2 Connect personal on every End-User PC just for connectivity . This seems to be a very thick client . Just for connecting to the database we are using DB2 connect personal on every End-User PC. This seems to be a very Thick client and it takes lot of space.
We are looking to replace this by some other thin drivers . If any one who is familiar with this issue please give a suitable option for me?

Have you looked at the IBM Data Server Driver ? The DS Driver is a simplified version of the IBM Data Server Client packaging. You'll still need a DB2 Connect license but it can be added to the DS Driver.
