Wow is it quiet in here. How about a quick survey of the expertise
here?

What databases are you using now (now meaning the last 5years or
less)?

What databases have you used in the last 5 years or more?


For me (ed)

now:
* ORACLE
* UNIFY 2000 Data Server

past:
* ORACLE
* Sybase
* proprietary and touches of others

Microsoft Visual FoxPro to both.

If you include university, then add Access and Oracle to recently
used.

* InterSystem Cache'
* Ladybridge OpenQM
* SQLite

past:
* IBM IMS
* Oracle
* MySQL (using
* Prime Information
* IBM UniVerse

dabbled with (e.g. no production systems):
* Postgresql
* SQL Server
* Products arising on the PC front, such as DBase, Paradox, Access
* File systems plus 3GLs used to supply many of the same features as
newer database products (from a user perspective), such as IBM VSAM
and Pr1me MIDAS indexed sequential file systems
