Default Schema for Full Text DB Using Stemmer - 05-06-2007 , 06:41 AM

Folks, for a moderately light weight version of subject db I'm
planning to build w/MySQL, any sources of examples, a how-to, etc.,
will be appreciated.

Or, are stemmers usually applied only as a query pre-processor?

(For those unfamiliar with the term, a stemmer extracts the root of
related words so that related words can be retrieved.)

Thanks, all.

There are several open source textbase/document management products
out there already. Why re-invent the wheel?

Two reasons:

1. I have a need for one that's pretty specialized, and those I've
looked at drag a lot of stuff with them I don't need.

2. Cuz I wanna see exactly how a wheel works.
