remote connect mysql - 07-21-2007 , 09:03 PM

I'm having difficulty connecting to a mysql database that I have
running on a linux system. I am trying to connect from a windows
system - but I get "request returned with SQL error". I have no
trouble connecting on the linux machine (localhost as server). When I
try to do it remotely through the windows machine I enter the ip
address of the linux machine. Is there something simple that I'm
missing?

Simple reinstall did the trick.

reinstall of what? mysql or mysql odbc connect?
