Default Identify unknown database from file - 07-20-2006 , 01:20 AM

I have an old database app that is no longer supported. It stored data
in tables in individual files. Associated with each file is a .key
file. Is there any way to determine what database format was used to
create the files so that I may begin the challenge of data conversion?
There is also a small .exe app that will convert a limited portion of
the data to a csv text file. I can make the files available to anyone
that wishes to take a look and am willing to do whatever is required to
save my data.

Thank you kindly!

Brian

If all else fails most applications have an option to print the data.
If you print to a disk file then writing a program to strip the
extraneous data is usually fairly easy. I was once obliged to write a
PC emulator for an obscure RS232 printer because the competitor from
whom I stole the client refused to provide the data.

Google led me to this web site: http://filext.com/

Asking this site for applications that use ".key" as a file extension
yielded over 100 different apps.

HTH. Good luck.
