Default How to import data into DBASE IV? - 01-20-2009 , 06:02 AM

I need to import data into an existing application and need a program
or method that handles both the *.dbf and *.cdx files.

*.dbf files can be edited with e. g. Openoffice. Added data do however
not show up in the application. My understanding is that the reason is
that the corresponding *.cdx file is not modified.

Recommendations and advices are appreciated.

Um, like maybe add data to a DBASE database using something like maybe
DBASE??

The app might be in Microsoft Visual FoxPro.

Thanks for your answers.

Since I asked via Google I have realized that the *.cdx files can be
deleted. Dbase restores them when I restart the application after my
modifications of *.dbf files with Openoffice.

Still seems like a backwards, unstable way to enter data. Still,
whatever works, use it as my Chem Prof used to say.
