DBMS for Site Test Report -

Hello,
In my work, we conduct testing/commissioning on various equipment at
site, and the testings will generate a lot of data and asset
information. Currently, there is already a hardcopy-form system for
capturing these data, but I'm looking into turning it into a computer
database so that retrieval and analysis can be easier.
Basically, apart from forms at in-house terminals, I hope the new
system to have the ability to sync-in digital forms (on PDAs or
laptops) which are filled-in during site work. And (I understand this
sounds like asking for too much..) it'd be good if the new system has
no license or cost issues. At least not too much. (In order words,
it'd be great if it's freeware.)
Can someone help to recommend some options out there? I am quite new
to this.
Thanks a lot!
