Default Database deisgn/performance - 02-10-2004 , 06:28 AM

Can anybody give me some advice on database design. If I have to recoed
records of frequent transaction events, am I better to design one indexed
"transaction table" with perhaps thousands of records and foreign keys to
many tables - or would I acheive better performance with several tables of
like transactions. I hope this makes sense. In short is it better to large
tables or more smaller ones.

Performance is very closely tied to the actual DBMS that you use.
There is no answer to your question because there is no information as
to the nature of the types of transactions.

Sorry that's not much help.
