I had this subject programming languages that our professor wanted us to report about the History of Xbase, and make a program out of XBASE. But, I found only very little resources on Xbase.. I couldn't even understand how to program it and worst i don't have the compiler for Xbase.. Can anyone here help me or teach me how to use Xbase andhelp me find a compiler for Xbase <DOS mode, not the virtual one>. Another question: Is Xbase same with dBase...? what's the difference...? Can i program the code of dBase in an Xbase compiler...? |

Can i program the code of dBase in an Xbase compiler...? "xBASE" was a term coined to refer to all dBASE and dBASE-derived DBMSs. (This was at a time when Ashton-Tate was getting overly picky over their trademark.) Various xBASEs are available NOW. Earlier this month, Microsoft released the beta version of Visual FoxPro 9.0. You can download it from: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/letters/ For historical xBASEs, try searching for data on "dBASE", "FoxBASE", and "Clipper".
