Default Visual Foxpro 5 & MS Server 2003 - 08-10-2004 , 05:51 PM

Does anyone know if Visual Foxpro 5 will run umder Microsoft Server
2003?

We are doing a migration of a clients systems & server from NT4 to
2003 and their IIS webserver uses Visual Foxpro V to keep user
database login/password info.

Anything special to the setup to make it work or can it at all?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Michael

Hi,

There are known problems with Vfp3 but not with Vfp5
related to newer operating systems / hardware.

Michael,
If you are only using the Win 2003 as a file server, then there is very little that really impacts a typical VFP (5.0 or whatever) application, since it only runs code on the local system.

Thank you all for your help.

Rick,
It is being used by 2003 as a web server thru IIS. It is used to keep
track of their names/passwords for the site access. The management is
thru their website by logging in under admin acct to be able to
add/change users. I would hate to migrate their site over and find it
won't work because VF5 is incompatible with Server 2003.
Thanks
Michael

Michael -
uh - what is it ?
you mention vfp 5 -
but with 'management through the website' I am gonna assume
something with ASP hitting vfp tables.
Can you get a description of the software, in 1000 words or more, from the
original programmer, or from
'that company's' document archive ?

do you think it *MIGHT* be a foxweb(tm) product ?

mondo regards [Bill]
