Default VFP8, foxisapi.dll - 01-01-2004 , 06:31 PM

Hi people,

I've just bought VFP8, having jumped from VFP3. I've been trying to
get the web-server stuff to go, but no success yet. Building the
sample .exe and running it with VFP seems to be OK. I've got
IIS up and running and displaying plain HTML web pages. So I
figure I must either have put foxisapi.dll in the wrong folder,
or else I need to set some permissions to make it accessible.

The VFP documentation is inconsistent about folders...
inetsrv? inetpub? or scripts within either? There is some
stuff about permissions for Win 2000, but it doesn't seem to
work that way in Win XP Pro. I haven't figured out anything
useful from the IIS documentation.

So ... does anyone know how to do this?

LF

You have to set DCOM, NTFS security and IIS execute permissions. Here's a
great doc on foxisapi & VFP. Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks for replying. I'd actually managed to find that url, once one
of my colleagues reminded me to try Google instead of trying to
understand Microsoft. Haven't had time to work through it yet
though.
