We have the following situation where we need help.

1. We issue xyz.prg to client
2. Client execute prg from VFP command window which creates xyz.fxp
3. Months later, we reissue updated xyz.prg
4. VFP 7 users must manually erase the xyz.fxp before the updated PRG
will execute and recognize the new PRG.

VFP 5.0 doesn't display these traits. VFP 6 - we haven't nailed down yet. I
may or may not display these traits similar to 7.0.

We obviously can't include in the xyz.prg a line that erases the xyz.fxp
(since it's in use once the user executue the prg.) We have thought of
wrapping the xyz.prg into a another prg that merely erases the FXP and then
runs the PRG - but our clients (100+) have grown very accustomed to running
the "xyz" routine and renaming would like to be avoided if possible.

With this feature (glitch) appearing post v. 5.0 - I hoped it might be an
environment variable in the later releases of VFP - but haven't found it
yet.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Email response are great too (not
