Default 'unable to process' error in 2.6a - 08-09-2004 , 04:49 AM

We have an application (Pegasus Opera 3.20 accounting system) which has
until now behaved reasonably well. Suddenly, one particular PC has
started to crash in this app with the Foxpro error 'unable to process'
at random.

The version of Foxpro is 2.6a, and the little information I've been able
to gather about this error suggested a networking problem, but nothing
else seems to be affected, and we've swapped the cable and network card.

Any ideas as to a solution would be appreciated.

Alun,
Have you updated your virus checker definitions and scanned the system recently? Have you checked for Spyware? Is this a FoxPro DOS or FoxPro Windows 2.6a app? What OS are you running under? What OS is the file server?

Hi Rick, thanks for the reply.

All the virus defs are updated daily (Symantec Corporate), and a scan
run every lunchtime with no result on this PC. We use Spybot S&D and
Ad-aware to check for spyware regularly - again, no problems, especially
as the PC concerned is exclusively used for accounts software and
word/excel. The software is running on W2K workstations, with W2K server
on the main box (not Advanced). Nothing has been changed, and all the
other PCs are fine, it's quite weird. I'm thinking of swapping out the
RAM on the affected PC, and I've already checked for overheating and run
an overnight network card and cable diagnostic, with no results (100%
connectivity with no packets lost, or other problems, according to the
software).

I don't fancy a reinstall just to resolve this, but maybe that will sort
it out!

Any clues from yourself or anyone else will be much appreciated.
