You need to set files to 100 in c:\windows\system32\config.nt

I have just converted a Win98 system to XP and I am now trying to run the fp
app under XP. So far, each time the fp app is started it prompts for a
"FILES" change to the CONFIG.SYS file. I changed CONFIG.SYS parameter FILES
to 100, and rebooted. Yet, it still prompts for the change to FILES.

Next, I created an XP environment variable FILES with the value of 100. No
go.

What should I try next?

Thanks

Thank you. Is there a web site where I can learn more about running this
version of fp under XP?

Thanks again,

Phoenix,
Not explicitly, but the "Microsoft: FoxPro (versions 1 through 2.6)" forum on Tek-Tips (http://www.tek-tips.com/) is pretty active. There are FAQs, a good Search capability, and lots of people answering questions that are still using FP DOS and FP Windows. Note: This site is free, but you do have to "register".
