Default Program works on local drive not on Novell network - 07-13-2005 , 02:46 PM





VP7 (and soon VP9), Novell

I have a program which does a massive amount of updates to 3 tables (around 5
each). It uses tableupdate. It works when I execute on my PC but hangs when
run on the Novell server.

Does some one know why and how to fix it?

Check that you have complete persmissions to the directory and files in
question. Also check that Novell version has the latest updates/patches.
You may consider the Samba / Linux combination as a free replacement for
Novell

FWI I spoke to the Novell adminstrator and he uped the number for records and
file locks. That seemed to have solved the problem for now.
