Performance Issue VFP7 on SBS 2003 w XP Pro Clients -

I'm hoping this forum can help with our performance problem. I'm not
sure where to turn next.
We purchased a VFP7 based application designed specifically for our
industry. The vendor told us we could use SBS 2003 Premium with the
ISA Server option. We have an HP ML330 with 2 Xeon 2.8 / 1M
processors; 1 MB of memory (soon to be increased); Raid 5 disk array
with 10K platters running SBS 2003, (SQL is not installed but the ISA
Server is). There is only one NIC in our server since we have a
separate router and firewall. Our clients are Dell Dimension 270GX's w
P4 2.8 Ghz chips, 512 MB of memory running XP Pro. There are 8 ursers,
4 of which run the VFP7 app on a regular basis. Things generally work
well except for one module.
When we run the one module with one user on it things work well.
Add a second user to that module and it takes 35 seconds to close a
record.
If the second user runs on the server they close records in about 2
seconds so it appears to be some sort of a network related issue since
the problem is only observed in clients across the network.
When the second user leaves, the remaining user has to restart the
module to get record closing time to return to an acceptable level.
The application vendor is running SBS 2000 with 2 NICs. They say it
works fine for them with our data. Looks like they have never tested
with SBS 2003 so they aren't much help here. I'm desparate, hope you
can help. I'm also going to post in the SBS forum. Thanks!!!!
