Default How to use Installshield Express in VFP 8 for simple installs. - 10-20-2003 , 03:41 PM

I look at the walk thru on MS site and tried using it. The documentation is
less than clear.

I develope on W2K.

I need to deploy on W98, W2k, and XP. I need the following types of
distributions.

1. Single user, local folders
2. Single user, folders on a zip cartridge
3. Mutiple users, folders on a novel server.

Are they possible? If so could some please post what should be entered into
Istallshield Exrpess to accomplish the above.

In VFP 7 or eairler it was possible to copy run-time files in the
application folders. This does not seem possible in VFP 8.

Here's a list of files needed to run VFP8 applications:

Personally, I have no problems with the MS online docs for IS. I assume you
also read this article?

I have not heard of anybody successfully doing the split installation
you are detailing. That doesn't mean it hasn't been done. I just
haven't heard about it. I have always handled the client and the server
separately.
