Default Freeware Product For VFP Data Changes? - 05-12-2004 , 11:42 AM

Hello Group:

I have a VFP-based product that I have designed, have taken to two
trade shows, and now am now actually selling (instead of just being a
non-profit organization, etc) . I need to have a plan for making
data changes (database structure changes) in the field. I am aware of
products such as Stonefield, but I was wondering if there was an open
source, freeware, what have you, product to do this. I could write my
own, but I don't really want to re-invent the wheel if I don't have
to. I would like something that would compare each of the 16 Fox
tables against a dictionary, adding or changing columns as necessary
(type,length,yadda yadda). Does such a product exist? My code is in
VFP8, and I have only tables and CDX indexes, no views.

Thanks!

Steven

You already have such tool ... Take a look at the GENDBC.PRG file in
HOME() + "Tools\Gendbc".
