A client of mine has Foxpro database. He would like to know what software he can use to make corrections on the database. Is it possible to import to excel using any special attachments for excel ? Have heard that there is some software available. Any advice will be appreciated. |

Mark, There are a couple of standalone programs around, but they may not update all the indexes or know about newer VFP fieldtypes. The best way would be to use the latest VFP OLE DB provider in your favorite development environment (including Excel <s>), or just get a copy of Visual FoxPro. |

The first question to ask is what version of FoxPro / Visual FoxPro created this data. Rick "mnews" <mnews (AT) ecolpay (DOT) com> wrote Hi A client of mine has Foxpro database. Well I checked, and it was set to wordwrap at 100 characters, so I changed it down to 80. It even rewraps it if I change the layout of my screen. |

It even rewraps it if I change the layout of my screen. Bully for standards. Even though I have wordwrap turned on, it doesn't wrap quoted text in a reply message. If the sender would set a reasonable text line length then I would think that most people would all be able to fit it on a 'standard' size screen width. Long lines or no wordwrap fit into the gender of html, word docs, and othe word processors. In the newsgroups we ask people to not use these features so that most all the users have a common playing ground. Is this such a problem to use plain old ordinary text within reasonable boundaries?
