Default Error Creating Folder under Windows XP - 08-11-2003 , 07:09 PM

My VFP7 application is getting errors when trying to create a folder (or a
file) when running under Windows XP Pro. All other operating systems work
fine. Does anyone have any ideas - could it be a security issue with XP
Pro?

Paul

This can be a security issue, but i'd help if you let us know which errors
you're getting.

The error is "Error creating folder". I use the native xbase/Foxpro make
file/folders commands. I expect it is just a read/write/create security
issue on XP Pro but since I know nothing about XP Pro I am not sure where to
look. Help?

Is this a customer error? AFAIK, "Error creating folder" is not a VFP error
message.
You can check the security settings:
- open Windows Explorer
- locate the root folder in which you try to create a subfolder
- rightclick the root folder
- select Properties
- activate tab Security

Try creating it in a sub folder to some other folder. I had heard
somewhere
that on a XP Pro machine it does not allow the user to create a file /
folder
on the root drive but will allow them to create in a sub-folder.
