Default Can Access do what VFP can do? - 07-05-2005 , 07:29 AM

In just two simple respects.

I am a single user of VFP and spend a lot of time managing data by:-

a) Opening a table in combined browse and edit modes, that gives me a
huge view of a range of data, and

b) Linking several tables (also in browse mode) and filtering a
selection of records. Again this gives me the ability to see data
(old/new etc.) side by side.

We (in our business) have been trying to use Access, but have not found
it possible to see such large amounts of data on the screen in one go.
On the other hand I have very limited experience of Access.

Can anyone comment?

Thanks

Mike

access can probably do it -- but why bother if you already have your routines
down? converting your data over and then using access seems like a waste of time
to me...

Josh. Thanks.

Because I'm delegating the different tasks to people who have some
experience in Access (and whom I wish to encourage), and we don't do
enough programming to make it worth teaching them VFP.
