Default Bogus "Not a database file" on XP. - 10-02-2003 , 09:04 AM

Hi all.

I got a network consisting mainly of win98 machines. One of the
machines is XP pro.
They run an application written in Foxpro2.6D.
Once in a while, the XP machine will get "Not adatabase file" and
"Memo is missing/invalid" errors. The files are all valid and there.
Trying again will in some cases go through OK, or get the error again.
there no apparent pattern to the error.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
AK.

The file server... is that a Win98 box? Win9x is not designed to act as a
file server. It is wise to upgrade to a real server system. Or if that is
not an option, configure the XP box as file server.
