FWIW, I agree with you. I actually used MEMLIMIT=80,2048,8192 as a standard starting point. Depending on the app and the environment, I'd sometimes see performance improvements moving that upper limit in either direction. FPW was an odd duck that way. Sometimes, telling it to use LESS memory improved performance. <g Dan "Rick Bean" <rgbean (AT) NOSPAMmelange-inc (DOT) com> wrote in message news:vnodubnf94rvbd (AT) corp (DOT) supernews.com... Shah, I've always found that having a MEMLIMIT your application's CONFIG.FPW file is important. Since FoxPro DOS or Windows can't use more than 16MB, I use MEMLIMIT = 60, 2048, 16384. Note: Recently some have challenged the "... can't use more than 16MB ..." part of that statement, and while I can't find any documentation that confirms it, I do know that all of our FPW apps have run better with it set at or less than 16MB. One other user claimed that going up to 32MB (32768) worked as well or better - I didn't find that to be true, but you can always check it out for yourself. Hi - Is there any kind of memory setting for a FPW 2.6 application to run? I have a FPW application that runs ok but once in a while on some machine it gives a 'Out of Memory' error? Any ideas ???/ Thanks in advance..... |
